EBRMG School Committee

Our mission is to promote the establishment, success, and continued maintenance of school and community gardens in East Baton Rouge Parish.

Presently we are focused on elementary school gardens and the children who garden. We help in three ways:

• We work one-on-one with teachers to show them the best ways to garden so they can focus on teaching.
• We organize annual workshops where educators who garden with students can increase their knowledge of gardening and network with each other, with Master Gardeners, and with LSU AgCenter professionals.
• We work with other organizations that sponsor gardening events for students. For example, we have presented demonstrations on starting seeds and pollination for the EBR Library’s Garden Discovery Series, for the Big Buddy program, and for Empower. 

 A gardening workshop was held at Mayfair Lab School on Sept 20th.
